TFTR Sidetracked: Let’s Climb the Cotopaxi Volcano! Or… Not…

[Click on the image above to watch the video]

Yeah. So. We love adventure. It’s pretty much our thing anymore, which is super cool.

So after a full day exploring Quito, we decided to head south of the city in search of adventure on the slopes of Cotopaxi, the world’s second highest active volcano. Not that we had any dreams or delusions whatsoever of being able to actually hike to the summit on foot – which many, very well trained and very fit people do every year. Nope. We drove up the side of the thing in a van. That’s more our kind of adventure. 🙂

Seriously, there is actually a road that you can take up the side of the volcano, which dead-ends in a parking lot located 15,000 feet above sea level. Yep. 15,000 feet! That’s way, way the hell up there. And as you’ll see in the video, it turned out to be a little… well… much for us. And our adventure on Cotopaxi ended before it ever really began.

Oh, well. There’s always next time LOL. Enjoy!
