What’s Next: We’re Feeling the Panhandle Spirit! (Or is it the Gut Grenades?)

two for the road travel adventure blog allsups

Howdy y’all!

So our big Alaskan adventure is wrapped up and we’re busy gearing up for what’s next. And we’ve got so many wicked cool things coming down the pike it’s tough to keep track of it all. Good times! Can’t wait to share with everybody!

As you can tell from the potato-quality iPhone selfie above, we’re stoked to be back here in the land of the world-famous Allsup’s burrito! (Also affectionately known as a “gut grenade,” or a “butt bomb” and still one of the tastiest guilty pleasures on the entire frickin’ planet.) Which means that yes! We’re back here in the good ol’ Texas Panhandle for a spell, which is just awesome. Always good to be back in the ol’ stompin’ grounds. Better still, there’s absolutely no better time to be in this part of the world than October. The temperature’s about perfect, there’s a clean, crisp chill in the morning and evening air, the leaves are beginning to change color, and that good ol’ Panhandle wind is relatively well-behaved. Nice.

And what’s even cooler is that we’ve actually got a few public appearances to make in the coming days while we’re in the area! Check it out:

ABC7 AmarilloWe’re waking up delightfully early tomorrow (Friday, October 9) to pay a visit to Leeann, Anthony, Nicole, Jeannie and the rest of the gang on ABC7 Amarillo’s Daybreak program. They had us on back in the spring and we suppose we didn’t screw that up too badly… so they’re letting us back on the show again to catch up with everybody, talk about what’s new and announce where our next epic adventure will take us. So we hope you’ll watch – either live on air or live on-line at abc7amarillo.com – tomorrow morning between 6 and 7 a.m. Can’t wait!

We’re gonna follow that up with a live in-studio interview with the one and only Chris Albracht on Saint Valentine Catholic Radio (1360 on your AM dial) at 12:00 noon. Looking forward to catching up with our ol’ buddy Chris and talking all things travel!

clarendon collegeAnd then – and this will be lots of fun – we’ve been invited to speak and spill a few of our stories from the road at Clarendon College in lovely little Clarendon, Texas on Tuesday of next week. We’ll be presenting in the library on campus at 1:30 p.m., it’s absolutely free and the public is certainly invited. Thanks to James and Pamela for the invite! We’re excited to actually get to meet with folks and chat in a casual public setting. Should be a very cool time – so we hope y’all can attend!

So as mentioned, we’ve got a lot of very cool things happening and we’re excited to be able to share it all with you guys. And as always, thanks so, so, so much for all the love and support. It’s a privilege to get to travel the way we do, and an honor to have you guys along for the ride!

Speaking of which, incidentally, we’re always down to come visit with y’all in person whenever we can. So if you’re interested in having us speak at your function, meeting, classroom, whatever – we’d be delighted and honored. And it’s always lots of fun. So just drop us a line!

Cheers y’all! Hope to see you around!
